Are you a proactive, reliable and hands-on individual looking to make a real difference in a busy college environment? a college in Chesterfield is seeking an enthusiastic Caretaker to join our Facilities and Estates team. As part of the dedicated Estates team, you will play a key role in ensuring our campus remains safe, secure, welcoming and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors. This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same.
What you'll bring:
- Carrying out a wide range of caretaking duties across the College campus.
- Responding promptly and effectively to urgent caretaking and maintenance issues.
- Reporting building fabric defects and maintenance requirements in line with College procedures.
- Assisting with room moves, event setups and the movement of furniture and equipment.
- Supporting the College's commitment to safeguarding and health & safety standards.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the Facilities and Estates service.
- Working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team to maintain high standards across the College.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance or similar role.
- Be vocationally competent and confident managing a variety of caretaking tasks.
- Have the ability to manually handle and move large items safely.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Be reliable, flexible and able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
- Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
- Be committed to providing an excellent service and maintaining a safe environment for all.
